Symbolism in The Yellow Wallpaper

symbolism - symbolic meaning or word

Gillman also referred to as "Jane" uses symbolism in many ways. Like for example she says, " I don't like to look out of the windows even-- there are so many of those creepy women, an they creep so fast." You can tell she is looking at her reflection through the window. Another way she uses symbolism is " I pulled and she shook, I shook and she pulled, and before morning we had peeled off yards of that paper." You can tell that she pulled the wallpaper off because she was so obsessed with that paper. She had the smell on her and even the color of it. She was addicted.

I used these links to help me find out what symbolism meant and finding the picture.

  1. Gizem, I really like this but I want to remind you to cite correctly. Also, i like how you ended with, "shes addicted', I think this statement can really get some conversations stirring. I think that you did very good but i also think you can use better transition words. Finally, I really like your link and it was very helpful.

  2. I really like everything you said, great ideas, but you need to cite correctly. You did a great job a with the ending and leaving people wondering and wanting to read on. I like you should extend it and tell me more. Do not forget to write a sentence next to the links. Lastly, I really liked the picture but it could be more creative and give a visual of what you are talking about.
